 New Delhi: The Income Tax (IT) Department has taken a major decision to mitigate the spread of coronavirus to individual and business sectors.  It has been decided to release the pending refunds immediately.  The ministry said the decision was taken by the central government to provide taxpayers with a view of the Kovid-19 situation.
 Refunds of Rs 5 lakh will be released immediately.  With the latest decision taken by the IT department, 14 lakh people will get relief.  Nearly one million other traders in the GST and Customs sectors will benefit.  The same applies to MSMEs.  The IT department said it would release a total of Rs 18,000 crore for refunds.
